Improving Email Deliverability

FoodStorm uses a number of techniques to help ensure that emails it sends are successfully delivered. There is an additional technique which can improve our success rate even more, however it requires a change to be made to your company's email setup.

The change must be made by the people who look after your domain name, e.g yourcompany.com. The change is very simple, and will not affect your own emails in any way.

Note that the following information is very technical, and should be forwarded on to your domain name provider:

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an open standard aimed at preventing sender address forgery. An SPF record can be added to your DNS that includes the FoodStorm mail servers, which improves the deliverability of messages sent by FoodStorm.

Typically an SPF record is implemented as a TXT record in your DNS.

If you already have an SPF record for your domain, add include:spf.foodstorm.com before the ~all selector of the record, e.g:

v=spf1 a mx include:spf.foodstorm.com ~all

If you do not have an SPF record for your domain, then you can add the following record:

v=spf1 a mx include:spf.foodstorm.com ~all

NOTE: You can only have 1 SPF record per domain. Adding multiple SPF records makes all records invalid.
