Closures

Closures allow you to specify days or times when your business will be unavailable. This in turn prevents customers from placing orders online if their delivery date & time falls within a closure period.

FoodStorm supports two different types of closures:

  • A Closure is an all-day closure, such as a Public Holiday. Orders cannot be placed online for any time on a closed day. Also, all-day closures are considered for your order cut-off times, e.g. customers cannot place an order during a closed day for the next day, since nobody can confirm the order.

  • A Time Block allows you to block out a time of day when you cannot accept orders. This can be useful during busy periods or major events when your kitchen is at capacity.

For customers with multiple Sites, Closures and Time Blocks can optionally be restricted to selected sites only.

Adding an All-Day Closure

To add an All-Day Closure:

  2. On the Settings page, click Closures.
  3. On the Closures page, click Add Closure.
  4. Enter your date rage, and provide a message to display to your customers on your shopping cart.

The message will be displayed on your shopping cart home page for one week before the closure starts until the closure is finished.

  5. Click Save.

Your closure will be saved.

Adding a Time Block

  4. Enter the date & times of your time block.

If you specify, say 2pm as the start time and 3pm as the end time, then customers will be prevented from making an order with a delivery time between 2:00pm to 2:59pm, but an orders for 3pm will be accepted.

  5. Click Save.

Your time block will be saved.
